Perfectionist Aamir Khan wants to improve the life of weavers

Being a Perfectionist , the actor has made sure that the recently-launched- game strategy is more than just a promotional affair. On the course of this game journey Aamir is said to be highlighting several social issues.

Aamir Khan, who is currently on a promotional tour for ‘3 Idiots’ in disguise, had been in Madhya Pradesh lately. There, he came across the weavers of Chanderi and said to have got an insight of their poor livelihood. Aamir felt the need to revive the dying art of weaving and wants to improve the life of weavers there. For this the actor will highlight the issue by wearing handloom clothes hereafter and even seek help from his co-stars.

Sources believe that Aamir will also pull in his ‘3 Idiots’ lady Kareena Kapoor to help him in promoting the cause. Birdies reveal that Bebo had recently purchased a saree from Chanderi worth Rs 25,000.

Aamir Khan has introduced the 10,000 autorickshaws to indian cites

Strange are the ways in which Aamir Khan works; though he hardly attended college and couldn’t further his studies, no one can surpass him when it comes to planning marketing strategies.

Dhan tana, now you can see autorickshaws that are emblazoned with ‘Capacity: 3 Idiots’ on the back. Yes, Aamir has printed these stickers for 10,000 ricks and has introduced them into the places like Mumbai, Hyderabad, Gujarat, Jaipur, Kota, Lucknow, Kanpur, Patna, Kolkata, Bhopal, Indore, Bangalore and Chennai .

So while riding a rick, make sure to read it’s back. About this auto rickshaw stunt, producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra is quoted as saying, “The auto-rickshaw is the most popular mode for commuting and works as a wonderful reminder medium. We have used this sticker in all the cities wherever rickshaws are one of the common modes for commuting.”

In fact, a few days ago, the makers of 3 Idiots also painted the walls of the washrooms of some of the theatres and they read…. “You are an idiot!”

Aamir Khan and Salman Khan spend some time together

In an industry rife with cut-throat competition where simmering emotions boil up in a series of verbal potshots now and then, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan have surprisingly been bonding like thick buddies.

Who can forget Salman’s personal ode to Ghajini when he painted Aamir’s portraits (in the Ghajini look) ahead of the film’s release last year. Though the SRK-Salman cold war may have driven a wedge through the industry and its camp-loyal folks, Aamir’s friendship with Salman has remained unaffected.

The two stars make it a point to meet and spend some time together whenever their busy schedules permit. But we now learn that they also go out for rides on Salman’s mobike when the streets of Mumbai are almost deserted in the dead of the night.

According to reports, Aamir first drives to Salman’s Bandra residence where he parks his car. Later, the duo ride out on Salman’s bike while a small pose of security guards follows them.

After the ride, the duo often sits down for a chat over a couple of drinks either at Salman’s place or at Aamir’s.

Aamir Khan taken the internet route to pitch his film 3 Idiots

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan excels at innovative promotion for his films and this time the star has taken the internet route to pitch his forthcoming film "3 Idiots" - where the film’s star cast will video chat with fans on the web.

Film producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra, director Rajkumar Hirani, other technicians and actors, including Kareena Kapoor, Sharman Joshi, R. Madhavan and Boman Irani alongside Aamir, will have a visual chat with the masses, after releasing the music of the film on the internet.

"We are launching the music of ’3i’ (’Three Idiots’) on the 9th of November, but for the first time this is happening on the (Inter)net... So the plan is to release the music at 11 a.m. and then all of us are in private chat rooms with you (fans) for an hour," Aamir posted on his blog Saturday.

"When I say all of us, I mean Vinod Chopra, Raju Hirani, Kareena, Maddy (R.Madhavan ), Sharman, Boman, the music director Shantanu, the lyricist Swanand, the singers Shaan, Shreya (Ghoshal), Suraj, and me... The chat is going to be a video chat as well and not only text," he added.Based on Chetan Bhagat’s bestseller "Five Point Someone", the movie is releasing Dec 25.

Aamir Khan confesses to his nerves in his blog

Completion of 3 Idiots has just occurred and the perfectionist Khan has already started worrying about the audiences’ reaction. The movie is due for Christmas release and nervous Aamir Khan confesses to his nerves in his blog.

“The last one week has been very busy with ‘3 Idiots’ work. The final song is done and now the cut is locked too. I think we have managed to make the film that we set out to.” Aamir is quoted as saying, “As you can well imagine the good old butterflies have begun to spread their wings once again and their feathery touch has started to tickle my insides. I’m tempted to try and snuff them out with smoke...but I won’t. I think this time I have quit for good.”

In fact, Aamir was also nervous when he walked the ramp for the first time at the recently held HDIL couture week for his good friend Salman Khan. “I was extremely nervous because I have never done it before. I am not used to doing all this. This is not my world,” he told the press. He was even nervous while rehearsing for the show and was thinking about how the audience would react.

Nevertheless, nervous or not nervous, Aamir knows how to wow his fans.

Aamir Khan was nervous before his ramp debut for Salman Khan's Being Human

He is in showbiz for more than two decades, yet Bollywood actor Aamir Khan was nervous before his ramp debut for Salman Khan’s "Being Human" show at the ongoing HDIL India Couture Week. He said he wanted to go back home.

"I was extremely nervous because I have never done it before. I am not used to doing all this. This is not my world. But I did it just for my friend Salman and to support the cause," Aamir told reporters Tuesday after the show.

"When I was rehearsing, the show area was empty still I was nervous. I thought that when I’m nervous now, what will happen when I will walk the ramp in front of the audiences. And I thought I should go back home," he added.

Before starting the walk, the actor stood on the ramp for a second, looked around, smiled at everyone, took a deep breath and very shyly started walking maintaining eye-contact with the audience and acknowledging their cheers.

Despite his nervousness, he charmed everyone with his boyish looks and cute smile.

Once he got over the initial inhibitions, Aamir entertained people by dancing with the kids who had initially done a small jig at the beginning of the show.

Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan , Govinda, Sanjay Dutt, Katrina Kaif, Arbaaz Khan, Salman Khan and Sohail Khan too walked the ramp.

Other than Aamir, Ajay Devgn too made his ramp debut and he was also very scared before walking down the ramp.

Actress Amisha Patel, who was there to support the cause, told IANS that the nervousness of these actors was very evident, as they had never walked the ramp before. But it was good to see them all come together for a good cause.

Another shy actor and Salman’s good friend Sunny Deol too was supposed to make his ramp debut.

"He was here but he is very shy. He didn’t know that he had to walk the ramp. As soon as I told him, he hid somewhere," said Salman jokingly.

"He was telling me behind the ramp that he would be there," he added.

Aamir Khan is keeping a close tab on his buddy Salman Khan's Wanted

It is learnt that Aamir Khan is keeping a close tab on his buddySalman Khan’s film Wanted’s box office collections. The film has opened to bumper collections all over India in the single screens and the multiplexes collections, if not as big, has been rising steadily as well. Aamir’s Ghajini was the last Bollywood film to break big in the single screens and amass huge collections.

The trade has been claiming Wanted has over taken Ghajini at many centers and this has intrigued the perfectionist Aamir more. Though most of the critics have lashed the film out, Wanted has been conquering the box office even in its second week.

Incidentally, Aamir was invited personally by Salman to have a dekko of his Wanted, days before its release. However, with Aamir being busy with his 3 Idiots it was not possible for him. But he seems to have finally watched the film on last weekend and loved Salman’s act in it.

Boyle has already signed Aamir Khan for Bombay Velvet

Ever since Slumdog Millionaire’s Oscar haul, Bollywood has been waiting for Danny Boyle’s next announcement. According to reports, Boyle has already signed Aamir Khan for Bombay Velvet. And is now in advanced stages of talks with Shah Rukh Khan.

According to Mumbai Mirror, the film will be a trilogy directed by Anurag Kashyap. While Aamir Khan will be the protagonist in the third one, Boyle is reportedly keen on getting SRK for the first one.

Interestingly Boyle had even offered Slumdog Millionaire to SRK. But things didn’t work out then. The same news daily also reports that a new actor has been signed on for the second one.

If the reports are true, this will surely be the mother of all casting coups. Bombay Velvet is a period thriller set in 1940s’ Mumbai.

Aamir khan favorite sport badminton

Aamir Khan has grown fat. The actor, who hasn’t had much time to workout because of having to cope with wife Kiran’s miscarriage, had put on 7 kgs.

Aamir is currently holidaying in Europe with Kiran and is supposed to shoot a song on 21 September for Three Idiots with Kareena Kapoor.

But being the perfectionist he is, he wants to look his best for the song. So, he looked up a badminton coach in Europe online, to get back in shape.

Badminton has always been Aamir’s favorite sport and he finds it a fun way to stay healthy. Aamir is known to play badminton regularly in the mornings, along with his diet and workouts.

And while it was difficult to find a coach since badminton is not very popular in Europe, he has found one, and now the coach stays with him 24X7 at the European villa.

Aamir Khan - next film is based on Chetan Bhagat’s story!

After Hello, this is second film to be based on Chetan Bhagat’s novels. Hello was based Bhagat’s best seller One Night in Call Center. Aamir’s 3 Idiots is based on Bhagat’s Five Point Someone.

The film would be directed by Raj Kumar Hirani. 3 Idiots happens to be the working title for the film. The story based on the IITians lives is going to cast Aamir Khan, Sarman Joshi, R. Madhavan, Boman Irani and Kareena Kapoor.

The film is being produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, who has also produced by Munn Bhai film which were also directed by Hirani.

Even Shah Rukh wanted to produce the film initially. Oops, an Aamir Khan flick to be produced by Shah Rukh, hard to digest!

Aamir Khan leads in Kiran's film Dhobi Ghaat

Aamir Khan has agreed to star in Dhobi Ghaat, the directorial debut from his wife Kiran Rao.

Khan, who recently wrapped up shooting 3 Idiots, confirmed that he would play a leading role in the film following extensive media speculation.

The 44-year-old actor wrote on his blog: "The cat is finally out of the bag. I’m playing one of the leads in Kiran ’s film Dhobi Ghaat.

"The reason we kept this under wraps is that she didn’t want to attract much attention to her film. She wanted to make this film on real locations with a tiny crew, very guerrilla style."

He added: "So we had to do it very quietly. And for once we managed to keep a secret from the media, at least until we finished the shoot."

Three biggies are all set to clash on the Republic Day weekend

It is going to be a battle worth a watch as three biggies are all set to clash on the Republic Day weekend. Amitabh Bachchan’s Rann, Aamir Khan’s 3 Idiots and Ranbir Kapoor’s Rajneeti are slated now to release on January 22nd 2010.

Ramu’s Rann was earlier planned for October 2nd release date but following the censorship issues about his Jana Gana song he seems to have decided to push the release ahead.

Rajkumar Hirani’s 3 Idiots starring Aamir, Kareena Kapoor , Madhavan and Sharman Joshi was slated for a December 25th 2009 release date but again with the dates shuffling post the two months strike, it won’t be possible for Aamir to make a Christmas Day hat-trick.

Rajneeti on the other hand was always slated for a January 22nd release date. This Prakash Jha film is carrying excellent reports and also stars Katrina Kaif, Ajay Devgan, Nana Patekar and Arjun Rampal in it.

A trade insider tells us, “It will be battle royale no doubt about it even if one of these films chicken out. Each film has its strong points and worthy contenders.”

Another trade analyst says, “Though they may clash into each other, with the extended weekend they would get with the Republic Day holiday each one will manage to get their required space. But what a feast it would be for the audience!”

Hrithik Roshan is going the Aamir Khan way

Hrithik Roshan is going the Aamir Khan way. Surprised? Well he is turning himself into a method actor just the way Aamir likes to approach and do his role with perfection.

Our sources close to Hrithik reveal; he is doing it for his upcoming Sanjay Leela Bhansali film Guzaarish, also starring Aishwarya Rai.

He further reveals, “Hrithik plays a paraplegic patient in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzaarish. He is shown confined to a wheelchair mostly in the film with Aishwarya Rai

playing nurse to him. Now to bring more perfection to his act, he has begun visiting a suburban Mumbai hospital almost every day to observe paraplegic patients.

He mostly goes in during the early morning times when the hospital is less crowded and before the visitors start coming in. He has even started interacting with the patients there.”

Incidentally, Hrithik plays a radio jockey named Ethan in the film before he turns paraplegic, so we won’t be surprised if he starts visiting radio stations for the same soon.

The pic of Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif in Guru Dutt’s biography

Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s next will be a movie based on Guru Dutt’s biography by Nasreen Munni Kabeer. The movie will have Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif in the role of Guru Dutt and Waheeda Rehman. Before this, Guru Dutt had himself made the movie ‘Kagaz Ke Phool’ based on his own life. Later filmmaker Johnny Bakshi made ‘Khudaai’ in which Rajesh Khanna was cast to play Guru Dutt.

In keeping with the roles they are to play in this yet untitled film, Aamir and Katrina posed for the latest issue of ‘Cineblitz’ in the look and getup of the original actors Guru Dutt and Waheeda Rehman.

Aamir is more concern about Kiran’s health than anything

Fever, pregnancy and now lung infection, Kiran Rao is repeatedly making news for her health issue. After recently getting discharged from hospital, Kiran is admitted again. Doctors after investigation discovered that she is suffering from lung infection.

During her first admission, report hit the headlines that Kiran Rao is pregnant but Aamir refused to comment on the issue. At present Aamir is more concern about Kiran’s health than anything else. For a month long Kiran was not keeping in good health and now Aamir heaved a sigh of relief as doctors had diagnosed her disease and with proper medication she may get back in good health.

Aamir is very much concern about Kiran’s health. In spite of hectic schedule, he manages to remain by her side. He attends Kiran at night in hospital and heads for home in the morning.

Aamir Khan to pen his much-awaited blog update 'Back To Work'

Aamir Khan is known to be the most socially aware actor in B-Town, and the first to raise his voice for a cause. This time it seems he has woken up from his slumber to pen his much-awaited blog update ’Back To Work’ where he writes that he is most disturbed to hear about racist attacks on Indians living in Australia.

The blog reads ’’While this doesn’t mean that all Australians are racists, the frequency and seriousness of such attacks, I think, calls for an extraordinary reaction from the Australian authorities. And while we want action to be taken by authorities in Australia, equally we should remember all the various crimes against foreigners who visit India. ’’

Coming to think of it, AK also endorses the Athithi Devo Bhava campaign to treat foreigners with care. So it isn’t asking for much if he expects the same in return. Good going Aamir!

The Khans are best known for their hospitality

The Khans are best known for their hospitality and Salman Khan demonstrated this at the shoot of Vipul Shah’s film London Dreams in London. When he realised that the entire unit was bored of western food and was missing homemade food, he called his cook, Jafferbhai , all the way from Mumbai to London. Jafferbhai is especially known for his delectable biryani.

Vipul Shah confirmed and said, We all were shooting in St James Court and we were really bored of the continental food. We used to order food from Indian pockets in South Hall but there was nothing like home-made food. We had to stay there for three months and everyone was craving for homemade food. That’s when Salman called his cook, Jafferbhai , treating us all to ghar ka khana for a large part of the schedule. Incidentally, Salman’s driver was a Pakistani and he was also a good cook so we handed him the kitchen department during the schedule.
