Lovely Lady Pumps

Maybe it's the new year or maybe because I'm almost a college graduate or maybe because I realize I'm going to be a "grown up" in a matter of months, but all of the sudden, I have completely warmed to the idea of wearing heels. I still believe that, compared to ballet flats, heels are inconvenient and uncomfortable. At the same time, they sure make a girl feel glamorous.

These are my dream heels. Round toe, tall heel, and the sweetest bow to ever grace such a sassy pair of shoes. I really don't need another pair of black shoes, but I can't quite wrap my mind around wearing a pair of ivory pumps. What color of tights would I wear? What kind of outfit? How would you wear them?

Peter Pan Syndrome

teenvoguebowcrazy
Whenever I need to put a smile on my face, I clip a bow-bedecked bobby pin in my hair and I instantly feel the corners of my lips start to lift. Staring at this snapshot, from last month's Teen Vogue, brings a similar relief to rainy, worn-out, or generally gloomy days. It's bright, it's happy, it's filled with flowers and bows and braids and diamonds and all of the things that make every girlie girl grin.

When a critical commenter recently wrote in, accusing me of having immature ideas and childish taste because I spend my time dreaming about Marc by Marc (instead of Marc Jacobs' grown up line) and Teen Vogue (instead of the mag's big sister), I couldn't help but smile. Because I knew it was true.

I can't deny I'm young at heart, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

All Bow-ed Over

As my ballet flat-bedecked feet increasingly begin to feel like little ice cubes, boots are looking more necessary by the day. Frye boots are as pretty as they are practical, but my irrational love for bows makes these Moschino boots the pair of my dreams.

If I had six hundred dollars lying around, I would buy these in a second. Actually, if I had six hundred dollars lying around, I would still be the cheapskate that I am and would probably invest it in an instant, but in the case of a gift card or fairy godmother gift, these sweet shoes would top my wish list.

Bows and Arrows

This bracelet, from my old neighborhood boutique In God We Trust that I didn't fully appreciate until my very last day in the city, is a must. It is also fifty dollars. I am making it my mission to learn how to turn a grosgrain ribbon into a perfect bow. As soon as I finish this never ending research paper...
