Kambakkht Ishq invited by the Library of the Academy of Motion Pictures

C_71_ar

Sajid Nadiadwala’s Kambakkht Ishq , which earlier this year rocked the B.O. with a bumper opening, has now bagged yet another prestigious honour. The film, which recently won an award for ’Best Locations’, has been invited by the Library of the Academy of Motion Pictures, Arts and Sciences to be a part of its permanent Core Collection.

The screenplay of the film will be part of the Library of Academy of Motion Pictures, Arts and Sciences and made accessible for research purposes only to students, filmmakers, writers, actors and other regular patrons of the Library.

It may be recalled that Kambakkht Ishq was even shot at the prestigious Kodak Theatre where the Academy awards are held each year. Now having bagged this honour, the makers of Kambakkht Ishq (namely producer Sajid Nadiadwala and director Sabbir Khan) would surely be thrilled to bits with this piece of good news.

Akshay Kumar back to his apartment in Central London

aks

Akshay Kumar was shooting for Sajid Nadiadwala’s House Full in London. One day, after pack-up from East London, the crew and Akki - with his trainer Jennifer - were travelling back to his apartment in Central London. They were about eight miles away and stuck in traffic, when she challenged him to beat traffic and reach before the unit; Akshay did just that.

Akshay admits, “Yes, Jennifer challenged me to run the rest of the way home and see if we could beat the car! Then my driver laid a bet saying that they would reach the hotel before them, so the bet was on. She and I started running at 10.30 at night and passed all the other cars with my co-stars (Riteish Deshmukh, Arjun Rampal and Lara Dutta), the producer (Sajid Nadiadwala) and director (Sajid Khan) sitting in them.” Since there are several Hindi movie buffs in London - Indians, Arabs and Asians - and he was soon recognised and had people running after him. He laughs, “Guys were running after me trying to figure out if it was really me.

I heard them shout out aloud, ‘Is he Akshay Kumar?’ By the time I reached my hotel it was almost like half an Indian army was running behind me. I was excited, thrilled and exhausted too by the time I reached the hotel!”

Akshay cycled many times while in London. “I bought a couple of mountain bikes and cycled back from the set to my hotel through the middle of London. While some people stopped to take pictures. I would cycle through Hyde Park everyday.

It was great fun! I felt great, with my lungs burning and legs pumping but I’m not alone - there are hundreds of people trying to become fit. If you want to be fit, I recommend buying a bicycle, riding around, forgetting about your stresses and just breathing in the air that surrounds you.”

Action king Akshay Kumar is losing his Midas touch

03sld1

Though reports that Action king Akshay Kumar is losing his Midas touch with back to back releases delivering a big turkey at the box office, were the talk of the town from quite sometime now, he has survived them in stark silence. It was said that when JUMBO, 8X10 TASVEER and CHANDNI CHOWK TO CHINA suffered a bad fate at the box office it implied that audiences don’t seem to be very excited anymore with an AKSHAY KUMAR film, yet he remained calm.

Just recently after his ’exciting’ surrender to the police over his obscene ’Unbuttoning incident’, he has chosen to strike back with vengeance & justify his stand on his blog. The macho man retorts saying ’’What was reported sounds like a scene out of C.S.I Miami but what really happened was that I came back to Mumbai and drove to the Police station myself, signed some papers, joined my hands, wished them all a pleasant day and went home to my family, unlike the Bad Boy criminal act that I am made to be doing ’’

At the same time he wishes to drift our attention from this trivial matter blown out of proportion to a ghastly mishap, which occurred with B-town renowned make-up artist Mallika Bhatt, who was robbed off her belongings & tortured badly so much so that the brave lady has literally faced death in front of her very eyes. He gushes ’’Her ordeal should be a wake up call for all of us. Why can’t Mumbai adopt something from Singapore! The crime rate is so incredibly low there, and it’s only because of the ’’Death Sentence’’. Now I can’t change the law, but I can advise all of you, especially the women of India to please learn self defense, I didn’t learn martial arts to be some famous dude, I trained because the discipline was something I didn’t want to live life without.’’ he signs off awakening few women souls to stand up for themselves at all times.
