Harman Baweja will strike it big with his next release

It takes a lot to hold your head high with dignity and accept your mistakes when your debut film doesn’t fair as expected at the box office. It takes even more strength to not crack when your next two films also fail to impress at the box office and we applaud Harman Baweja for never letting the negativity and box office failures discourage him or create any desperation in him to sign films.

In fact, he has said no to several prestigious banners and projects over the last 18 months and hasn’t signed a new film since he signed Ashutosh Gowariker’s recently released ’What’s Your Raashee?’ And thankfully his patience and perseverance is paying off with rumours doing the rounds that Kunal Kohli is in the process of signing Harman on as the lead in a film which marks Kunal’s debut as a producer.

Although Kunal will not be directing the film, those who have read the script believe it’s a great project and apparently Kunal decided to approach Harman after seeing his performance in ’What’s Your Raashee ?’ Kunal felt that Harman brought a lot of sincerity and honesty to the character of Yogesh Patel, and that he had a certain natural style of acting which was extremely impressive.

We’re sure Harman will strike it big with his next release, Anees Bazmee’s ’It’s My Life’, but even if he doesn’t, it looks like the good projects will keep coming as leading makers have recognized his talent and are unperturbed by his yet elusive box office hit.

Ashutosh Gowariker has changed the finale of What's Your Raashee

For those who think they know which of the 12 Priyanka Chopras becomes Harman Baweja’s bride at the end of What’s Your Raashee, here’s a shocker.

Ashutosh Gowariker has changed the finale. Harman’s character will walk away with a completely different girl than the one the hero of the novel chooses.

It took a while to convince novelist Madhu Rye, but Ashutosh finally convinced her that an identical ending would be a spoiler for those who have read the book.

Rye had also never imagined that all the 12 candidates would have the same face.

But Ashutosh had made up his mind. "If I had 12 different actresses playing the 12 brides-in-waiting, a star-hierarchy would’ve been created in the audiences’ mind. And the one Harman would’ve married would’ve been considered ’the star’ of the show,” he said. “I wanted all the 12 girls to be looked on with equal curiosity and interest by the audience. And for that I needed to take up the challenge of making one actress play all the 12 parts."
