Fashion Model Heidi Klum Changes Last Name to Samuel

Heidi Klum biography :

Heidi Klum has been a regular model for Victoria's Secret since 1997 and for Sports Illustrated since 1998. She has appeared in a number of movies and television shows, and in 2004, she began hosting her own show, fashion Project Runway. Heidi is the epitome of what it means to be a supermodel; that's probably why she has become one of the most recognizable and highest-paid models in the world.

Heidi Klum

German supermodel Heidi Klum, who is recognized on the catwalk, in campaigns and on television for the last 10 years, has changed her last name. The 36-year-old decided to take the surname of her musician husband Seal, whose full name is Seal Henry Olusegun Olumide Adeola Samuel. She will now become Heidi Klum Samuel.

Heidi’s reason behind the name change is because she thinks the name Heidi Klum is too German for America. This is kind of a weird reason, as she will keep the name Klum for work, like when hosting reality show “Project Runway”. However, she noted that she filed the paperwork for the name change already with a court in Los Angeles.

Heidi Klum

A super model Heidi and Seal got married on a Mexican beach in 2005 and have had two sons together. Currently she is pregnant with her fourth child, which is her third with Seal, and she is due any time now. There were even rumors that she was in labor this week, but those turned out to be a false alarm. She also has a 5-year-old daughter, Helene (aka Leni), from her previous relationship with Flavio Briatore.

It’s so great to see model celebrity marriages work out like this one has, as they seem to have the hardest time making them work with all the pressure from media. Also recently, Sarah Michelle Gellar took her husband Freddie Prinze Jr.’s surname, becoming Sarah Michelle Prinze.

Meanwhile, fans of fashion “Project Runway” continue to tune in to the show, which was taped earlier this year. In the most recent episode, Irina Shabayeva won the chance to design a holiday dress for International Concepts, which will be sold for $139 on macy’s.com. Plus, Louise Black was cut from the competition.

The local aspiring model struck the winning pose at Willow Grove Park’s casting call When 17-year-old Shakia Anderson’s father passed away in March, she considered abandoning her dreams of becoming a model. Anderson’s father would have been proud, as the lucky Mt. She was initially selected as one of 10 finalists — one from each U.S. Garage location — and then declared the national model search winner after an in-store vote from peers, Garage shoppers and the Garage Selection Committee.

“Modeling has been my number one goal in life since I was younger,” Anderson said during her casting call interview.

She has walked the runway in a handful of local fashion shows, and recently graduated from Acerella Studio’s Youth model and fashion Program in April. Anderson frequently shops at Willow Grove Park searching for fashion trends to complement her natural stylishness and to help her stand out in a crowd.

Anderson was previously a student at the New Media Technology Charter School in Philadelphia, and plans to complete her senior year at Cheltenham High School in Wyncote. In the future, she hopes to follow in Tyra Banks’ footsteps, by becoming a high fashion model and helping less fortunate people.

Size 12 Rosie is in great shape to be a model

Would-be model Rosie Medford has an important message for teenage girls everywhere – be healthy and happy with the way you look to become a successive internet models or teen model.

The 16-year-old Theale Green pupil speaks from experience. At 5ft 7in tall and a size 12, she has triumphed in the first round of a prestigious modeling competition done by some famous modeling photographer.

Pretty Rosie, who is studying for her A-levels and eventually hopes to study geography at Portsmouth University, has been awarded a place in the early heats of the Teen Queen UK competition.

Alongside 50 other beauties from across the UK, people can now vote for her to go through to the second stage – only three girls will be chosen.

From there Rosie will enter the finals. If she wins she will scoop amazing prizes including a wardrobe of clothes and shoes, a posh hairdo, a laptop and an introduction to a modelling agency.

Plus she will represent the UK in Teen Queen Europe and possibly Teen Queen International.

Dressing up in beautiful frocks is something quite unusual for Rosie – who spends her spare time in uniform as an army cadet.

Rosie, who lives with her dad Mark and mum Deborah, both 47, in Hyde End Lane, Spencers Wood, said: “I really want to be a model.

“I entered this competition after seeing an advert for it in the Evening Post. I logged into the site and sent my picture in.

“They rang my mum and said I’d been chosen to go on their website where I will face the public vote.

“At the end of it there is a big fashion show in London which people’s families can attend.”

Former Ryeish Green pupil Rosie, who has an older sister Melanie, 18, was inspired to try for modelling after her parents bought her a professional photo shoot for her birthday.

“The photographer said I looked natural in front of the camera and had what it takes,” she said.

“It would be good to have someone representing the Reading community in the finals.

“I also want people to know you don’t have to be a size zero to make it as a model and be beautiful.

“People should always be happy with the way they look.”

Rosie, who is studying geography, maths, economics and business, said her mum and dad – who runs print finishing company Printex – were very supportive of her.

Housewife Mrs Medford said: “I am proud. This is a good opportunity for her.”

Showcase of catwalk disaster

THE upscale exclusive Members Only in Fort Bonifacio was dazzling with personalities during the launch of Nokia Standard Chartered Credit Card, palanggas.

So I had to witness the grand unveiling of the elegant and sleek black matte credit card, dahlings. It was done by Simon Yuen, StanChart consumer banking head, who stressed, “This is part of StanChart’s continuing commitment to the Philippine market. And despite the global economic meltdown, StanChart believes the Philippines will remain a robust market that will grow tremendously in the next few years.”

Next speaker was Nokia Philippines’ brilliant general manager William Hamilton-Whyte, who expressed optimism about this partnership.

“With this new Nokia Standard Chartered Card, we hope consumers will appreciate and enjoy its myriad benefits.”

Circulating with us were gorgeous bikini models in chic Jun Escario outfits, grabbing attention by holding bigger versions of the new credit card, dahlings.

Supratim Pandey concluded, “With such good credit-card benefits, it makes sense for anyone who has a phone to avail of this card, which can provide customers with savings and solutions to their evolving needs.”

By the end of the event around 10 p.m., a raffle of fantastic prizes, which included overnight stays, round-trip tickets to local and international destinations and Nokia phones like the latest Nokia E66, was held, palanggas.

Then our groupie dashed to Le Soufflé resto, where we had a late, yummy dinner before going to a friend’s house for a nightcap, dahlings.

Après the fun time we all had, I woke up to the reality that I’m addicted to credit cards which make my shopping so much easier, but paying (oh wow!) so much harder. Oh well.

Enchanting wine dinner

For the true connoisseur of excellent wines and food, the fabulous degustation dinner of Arboleda Wines of Seña produced in Colchagua Valley in Chile had the chosen ones mingle together in a très prive dining room at Ascott Makati Café on the 6th.

The event was organized by residence manager Lew Yen Ping in collaboration with Tita Trillo, who has the best winery at Titania Wine Cellar Inc., and with the master planning of chef Cartailler’s creations of degustation dinner, where a fantastic selection of wines to go with the meals, dahlings, was presented.

Dinner started with Pomelo Asian Shrimp Cocktail and Smoked Salmon, downed with Arboleda Sauvignon Blanc 2007, which won the International Value Awards 2008. Next was Tomato Soup with juniper berry and pesto foccacia, sipped with Arboleda Chardonnay 2006, another trophy and gold-medal winner at the International Wine Challenge. Then came the incredible Seared Duck Foie Gras with Espelette Piment on Carmenere Risotto served with the ultimate favorite, Arboleda Carmenere 2006, a wine so deep and intensely violet in color that won the Best Carmenere by International Value Wine Awards 2008. Coffee-crusted pork mignon and crispy belly, scented with star anis, with whipped potato was served next with Arboleda Cabernet Sauvignon 2005, a full-bodied wine rated 89 points by Robert Parker, no less, dahlings.

We ended this unforgettable dinner with old-fashioned chocolate mousse, paired with Natalie Sweet Chardonnay. All of us who landed early departed at the end with songs in our hearts and smiles on our faces, palanggas.

Celebrating Randy Ortiz

When you have some of the most beautiful, internet models and name droppable faces all packed into a grand ballroom, without even batting an eyelash, you can be sure it is a grand gala of a high-end fashion show, dahlings. And that’s how it was, when Samsung Metrowear featured Randy Ortiz’s ’50s and ’70s stylish collection, après cocktails and a buffet of delicacies at the Edsa Shangri-La Hotel lobby.

Statuesque Romina Urra Gonzales of Metro Weddings superbly hosted the event before Ortiz bedazzled the fashionable pack with his holiday collection “Aspirer,” directed by close pal Jackie Aquino.

The highlights were definitely the TV stars and models like Dingdong Dantes, Diether Ocampo, Apples Aberin-Sadhwani, Marina Benipayo, Annette Coronel. The awful, disastrous catwalk mishaps left a bad taste in everyone who felt so sorry for the models who fell, slipped or wobbled on the ramp. Mega model Suyen Chi fell on the ramp. But being the professional gal she is, Suyen stood up and continued to model to the thunderous applause of the shocked invitees.

But as the saying goes, “The show must go on,” palanggas, but not before many of the invitees had to rush for a drink to the nearest bar to calm their tension throughout the entire show.

Moral of the story, check out the ramp and don’t make your model wear shoes with heels taller than the Eiffel Tower, nest ces pas? After all, it’s not the shoes that they should showcase but the clothes, palanggas.

Showcase of luxurious lifestyle

Leave it to SM’s vast conglomerates in the world of retail, land and resort development to come up with something different, palanggas, during the Philippine Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2009 held at SMX Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia Complex, in partnership with Runway Productions. Fun summer outfits and elegant nightwear were shown by loads of our country’s new gang of designers, including the Vision and Trends group with designs inspired by Hamilo Coast, Tagaytay Highlands and SM Residences.

Heading the pack of tons of viewers was taipan Henry Sy Sr., no less, dahlings.

Without even batting an eyelash, one can see how SM Land’s incredible vast development projects are made for a luxurious, nature-friendly living which took shape through the super creations of our upcoming talented designers, highlighted during the très successful Philippine Fashion Week, dahlings.
