As a rule, I always embarrass myself the first day of class. Subconsciously, I obviously believe I need to ensure that my teachers think that I am an idiot. If you start at the bottom you can only go up, right?
After listening to the professor theorize about first day trends on campus in a sociology class ("I predict collared shirts will be big this year and purple is definitely on it's way out." Uh, okay?), he asked the class what big fashion event was coming in the next few weeks.
In a burst of excitement, I eagerly shouted "FASHION WEEK!"
He looked over, smirked, and said "I was referring to our journalism school's centennial. There will be alumni and potential bosses buzzing all around campus and I suggest you dress up to make a professional impression."
Ugh. At least he knows where my mind is at when I should be thinking about, you know, sociology.
