Every season, my sorority has a semi-formal party. And nearly every season, I skip out. More so than the headache-inducing process of finding a date, there's the (much more important) challenge of finding a dress. When I was in high school, I assumed I could rewear my prom dresses to the fancy parties in my future. I assumed wrong.
It's nearly impossible to uncover a dress that's stylish but not too; trendy but not too; and affordable but not... cheap.
These three from ModCloth satisfy all of those conditions. They're the kind of dresses that can be worn for a myriad of occasions, aren't too expensive, and are a little chic but still cool enough for college. As my fall semi-formal looms, my excuses not to go are quickly vanishing.
