Country Bumpkin

When I was a little girl, I watched Little House on the Prairie with the enthusiasm that I now watch Gossip Girl and Heidi, with fellow curly top Shirley Temple, was one of my most frequently-played movies. The country life appealed to me, to the point where I once asked my mom how I could go about becoming Amish (I saw a documentary in which they wore dresses every day, which instantly made me envious... until I found out they didn't have luxuries like electricity).

From the looks of his latest Chanel collection, it seems Karl Lagerfeld shares a similar affinity for the simple life. Models dressed in crochet flower-embellished cardigans carrying fraying straw handbags walked down a runway of hay bales.

I'm heading home this weekend, and I'll be daydreaming of a closet full of Chanel as I wind through the country roads.
