How someone feels when his or her favorite band breaks up is exactly how I felt when Trovata dissipated back in 2006. And how someone might treasure that last album is how I treasure the single Trovata piece in my possession (never mind that it's a knit hoodie that could have been purchased at J. Crew).
True, Trovata lives on, but it's a single act these days--kind of like if Ben Gibbard continued recording without his death cab full of cuties. Still charming, but still, different.
At first I was sad to come across Trovata's Gilt Groupe sale after everything was sold out last week, but that quickly turned into relief because I wanted everything. The quirky styling and Official Preppy Handbook collection takes me back to the band... I mean... brand's glory days; bow ties, pleated uniform-inspired minis, tailored buttondowns, and everything a girl needs to look like Blair Waldorf circa senior year.
Spring isn't even here yet, but this already makes me excited for fall.
