Need vs. Want
Life has been so busy lately that I didn't notice spring break is only a few weeks away until last night. Since then, it's all I can think about. Not surprisingly, the "where" of my spring break (cruise to the Bahamas) has been less on my mind than the "wear."
I have been trying--so far successfully, but my willpower is wearing out--to talk myself out of this chambray dress, $35 from Gap, and chambray skirt, $58 from J.Crew. I already have a dress and a skirt of the same material in my closet. Sure, my dress isn't as short, nor is it sleeveless and the skirt doesn't have ruffles or that incredible neon waistband. But is it silly to buy things you already have, even if they are special and essential in their own way?
P.S. The skirt also comes in a light blue with a brilliant yellow waistband and a pale gray with a bright pink waistband. Why is life so hard?
