"On the day of the big football game between the University of Missouri Tigers and the Cowboys of Oklahoma State, a football scout named Dan Shonka sat in his hotel, in Columbia, Missouri, with a portable DVD player."
Whoa, whoa, whoa. Malcolm Gladwell, a brilliant author and one of my favorite New Yorker columnists, leads a recent article with an anecdote from my college! And discusses the successes (and nonsuccesses) of our team's quarterback! And, well, the rest is just a bunch of football talk that's a bit over my head, but still.
Sadly, this means Mr. Gladwell visited my little college town and I missed him. But it's just as well, because seeing the iconic writer walking around campus would have been so overwhelming I wouldn't have been able to think... or, um, blink.
