Seeing that I'll be starting my new big girl job in just a few days, it couldn't be more timely that SocietyStylist.com invited me to be part of their "Little Black Dress Experiment" this month. Ann Taylor is sending a classic little black dress to 31 bloggers, and challenging each of us to wear it in a way that's tailored to our personal style.
Last year, Dallas-based stylist and fashion blogger Valerie Elizabeth wore a LBD 31 days in a row--and, impressively, 31 different ways. This time around, she will showcase 31 different looks worn by 31 different bloggers in 31 different places in what has turned into a Tour de Little Black Dress of sorts.
I'm a huge proponent of the little black dress -- and the little dress, in general -- and am excited to add in a style that is noticeably absent from my wardrobe. I have empire-waists and shifts and sheaths, but it will be my first time wearing a chic little shirtdress. Stay tuned next week to see how (and where!) I'll be wearing it, and read more about the experiment here.
Pictured above, a bit of little black dress inspiration from Netaporter. I love these tights and boots and jackets enough to start looking forward to fall.
