Skirting The Issue

libertylongdressI don't follow many fashion rules. I wear white after Labor Day, I mix brown and black, and I pair tights with open-toe shoes (okay, I haven't yet, but I'm open to the idea).

One personal fashion rule I'm determined never to break is avoiding hems that hit past the knee. At 5'3, I'm not terribly petite, but longer lengths make me look like an extra from Little House on the Prairie.

I rarely have my act together enough to take things to a seamstress, and thus I've never met a tiered ruffle I didn't like. I can chop off a few layers and skip sewingand keep the unexposed unraveling fabric my little secret.

I wasn't sold on this Liberty of London find until my second adventure to Target in three days. I went solely for necessities (sunscreen and swimsuits for spring break), but decided this dress would be fantastic to wear to a formal dinner on the cruise ship... and maybe even graduation?
